DM22 Electronic Publishing
(4 units lecture/lab) CSU   Recommended Preparation: DM10 and DM20

Course Description:
A study in the use of professional software for developing multimedia applications and publishing on the internet and or CDROM-DVD, student teams assess needs or problems and design multimedia solutions with emphasis on the production process: concept, design, content development, product testing, and publishing.

Course Learning Outcomes:
1. Develop media-based projects in a team modeled from a professional
development team.
2. Analyze the needs of a problem for an interactive electronic solution
3. Utilize the needs analysis to create graphics, audio, video, and animation
4. Compose scripts and storyboards that clearly represent production objectives.
5. Design and develop a user-friendly navigation system.
6. Demonstrate understanding of the development process
to project completion.
7. Publish an effective media-based project on the Internet
and/or CD-ROM and DVD.
8. Analyze completed projects in terms of functionality, aesthetics, design, and content.
